Dr. Hossein has extensively contributed to health-related research and designed, developed, and implemented novel Machine Learning techniques. He also engaged with a range of healthcare stakeholders and practitioners in different contexts for the purpose of designing and implementing Clinical Decision Support Systems. He mainly focuses on prediction models with respect to Parkinson’s disease, breast cancer, hepatitis disease, and heart disease. He has evaluated the adoption of Hospital Information Systems in several contexts within implementation and post-implementation stages. He also conducted significant Systematic Literature Review papers. His research outputs have been published in over 50 peer-reviewed papers in top quality international journals such as International Journal of Medical Informatics, Computers in Human Behavior, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, Expert Systems with Applications, and Telematics and Informatics. Before joining the EPIC project, he worked on an international project funded by Newton.
