Patients, Carers and the Public

Patients, carers and the public are at the heart of everything we do.

Without your involvement, we are at risk of supporting digital innovations that don’t address a real world need or are designed in a way that isn’t user friendly or appealing.

As a project, we are all about working in equal partnerships with patients, carers and members of the public throughout the process of digital innovation, from initial idea generation right through to implementation and evaluation.

We recognise the value of working with patients and the public to ensure what is developed is what patients need.

There are a number of exciting ways to get involved with EPIC including:

  • Co-designing digital health innovations with local businesses
  • Usability testing the latest digital health products before they reach the market
  • Trialling digital health innovations as part of their research evaluations
  • Becoming an active member of a research team, suggesting ideas, collecting and analysing data, contributing to peer-reviewed publications
  • Becoming a champion for digital health and the EPIC project – sharing the EPIC project, supporting businesses and related products with your own community
  • Co-presenting information with academics, innovators and many others
